"Ururangi", is the M?ori word for "Merope", one of the many stars that forms the Matariki star cluster. Ururangi is associated with the weather, the winds, the infinite sky - elements that hold a deep meaning for the M?ori, tying the earth to the heavens.

Matariki is the M?ori name for the star cluster known as the Pleiades. Its annual ascent in the skies marks the beginning of the M?ori New Year—a time filled with profound cultural significance, symbolizing renewal, togetherness, aspirations, and remembrance.
